Saeb Erekat, head of the PLO Negotiations Department: told that The Palestinians will never acknowledge Israel’s Jewish identity. … There is no country in the world where religious and national identities are intertwined.”. It is not true the official name of Iran is Islamic Republic of Iran. He meant perhaps only islamic and muslim states can intertwin religious and national identities

The Arabs living in Israel are often depicted as the most misfortunate group and libraries have been written about they are torn between their identity as Israelis and as Arabs. The truth however is that they do not have an identity as Israelis in any real 'subjective' sense. They are to themselves Palestinians who feel they have a better deal socially, and economically in Israel and so do not wish to be excluded from the state that provides them this- though they refuse to serve it and show it no loyalty.
Their position is one in which they demand to receive everything, and wish to give nothing.
'Hypocrisy' is too small a word for it.
