		<description>There are many reasons why Israel cannot and should not give up the Golan. Among them is the fact that the great majority of Israelis oppose the idea.
But what one should also understand from past negotiations is that the Syrians do not really want 'peace' and the Golan. Hafez Assad refused more than once a deal along these lines. Such a deal would be regime - threatening for Syria. 
So i would not worry too much about such a deal happening. It suits both sides at certain times to give the impression that they are negotiating.</description>
